About Shilo Sazwan

Shilo Sazwan is a visionary leader in the mining and fertilizer industries, currently serving as the Strategic Operations Partner at Sage Potash. With a career spanning three decades, Shilo has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation and efficiency in fertilizer and solution mining.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Shilo's journey in the industry began early, working across various sectors of his family's fertilizer, calcium, and transportation businesses. He played a pivotal role in developing the sulphur fertilizer industry in North America, spearheading cost-effective technologies that established industry leadership while maintaining low production costs.

As the former Chief Operating Officer of Tiger Calcium, Shilo managed a workforce of 500 employees and was instrumental in developing multiple fertilizer and calcium plants featuring custom in-house technologies. His strategic vision extended to creating a robust logistics division, incorporating over a hundred railcars and trucking fleets.

Shilo's leadership at Tiger resulted in remarkable 200% plant growth and a significant increase in market value, culminating in the business being sold for nine times EBITDA. Before joining Sage Potash in 2024, Shilo held executive positions at Pacific Rim Sulphur and Apex AG, further solidifying his expertise in the agricultural sector.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Shilo is deeply committed to community support. Under his guidance, Tiger became the largest contributor to the region's food bank. His dedication to public service earned him a medal of honour for his leadership during the devastating wildfires in Slave Lake, Alberta.

At Sage Potash, Shilo continues to drive innovation and growth, focusing on advancing the development of the US domestic potash supply through the Sage Plain Property project.
